Considering cheap car insurance? Choose wisely

Cheaper doesn’t always mean better, especially when it comes to insuring your car. There are a number of things to consider when taking out vehicle insurance. If you’re looking for cheap car insurance, it could cost you more than you think.

Before you make a decision ask yourself

  1. How affordable is my insurance at the moment?
  2. What is the likelihood of my insurer paying out my claim?
  3. Which other benefits does my insurer offer me?

Insurance affordability

Vehicle insurance options range from comprehensive vehicle insurance to limited and third party cover, but you are not stuck with the option you choose. You should be able to actively manage your cover and to change it according to your needs. If you, for instance, want to remove any items from your policy to better suit your circumstances, you should be able to do so.

Higher excess, lower monthly premium

If you are offered a particularly low premium, find out how much the excess is. Paying a higher excess can lower your monthly premiums considerably, but then you should be able to afford the excess when you claim.

Rather find a balance between a reasonable premium and an affordable excess. You can also ask if your insurer has an excess waiver or zero excess option.

Our flat excess structure

We can’t keep the unexpected from happening. But we can make sure that there are no nasty surprises when it comes to your insurance. With our flat excess, you know upfront how much your excess will be enabling you to budget accordingly for those blows life sometimes throws at us.

• A flat excess of N$3 000 applies instead of a percentage of the claim value
• A flat windscreen excess of N$1 000 and an excess of N$3 000 for repatriation claims applies

• A flat excess of N$1 250 instead of a percentage of the claim value applies.

Excess for clients 55 years and older

• No excess applicable

Your claim should count

You should have the peace of mind that your insurer will pay out your claim. As Namibia’s leading short-term insurer, we offer cover that doesn’t leave you with more questions than answers and we look for reasons to pay you rather than not.  That is our promise of insurance good and proper.
