Our Vehicle insurance options include the following:

  • Comprehensive – accidental loss or damage to a vehicle, including third party liability
  • Limited (fire and theft) – accidental loss or damage to a vehicle, including third party liability only if the loss or damage is caused by fire, lightning, explosion, theft or attempted theft
  • Third party only – amounts for which you are legally liable to a third party if the liability relates to the insured vehicle

Some additional cover available at no additional cost:

  • Emergency repairs, costs and accommodation
  • Tow-in costs after mechanical breakdown and recovery costs
  • Repatriation costs
  • Trauma treatment

Cover Options

Comprehensive vehicle insurance cover includes these benefits:

  • Option of replacing a vehicle after theft or loss
  • Replacement costs for locks, keys and remote controls
  • Recovery costs for found vehicle following theft or hijacking
  • Emergency accommodation;
  • Emergency costs payable to public authorities; and
  • Trauma treatment.

Additional cover for comprehensively insured vehicles

Comprehensively insured 4x4 vehicles qualify for 4x4-specific cover, at an added monthly premium. Extended benefits include increased cover for emergency repairs, cover for winching equipment, repatriation costs as well as an extension to countries where the vehicle will be.

  • Vehicle hire automatically included.
  • If your comprehensively insured vehicle is a luxury vehicle you can also take out optional cover to get increased cover for loss of keys, tow-in costs, and safeguarding after mechanical breakdown and many more.
  • You can also choose to cover the contents of your caravan or trailer, or specify certain accessories of your vehicle.

*Extended countries means the following: Normally your vehicle is covered in RSA, Namibia, Lesotho,
Botswana, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique. Extended countries mean we also cover your
vehicle in Angola, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Our flat excess structure

We can’t keep the unexpected from happening. But we can make sure that there are no nasty surprises when it comes to your insurance and you are not left with more questions than answers. Our excess structure enables us to fulfil our promise to you of insurance good and proper. With our flat excess, you know upfront how much your excess will be thus eliminating surprises at claims time. Now that’s proper, dependable, thorough insurance against any eventuality.

Vehicle

• A flat excess of n$3 000 applies instead of a percentage of the claim value
• A flat windscreen excess of n$1 000 and an excess of n$3 000 for repatriation claims applies

Motorcycle

• A flat excess of n$1 250 instead of a percentage of the claim value applies.

Excess for clients 55 years and older

• No excess applicable
